Harbour City reports missing artwork, which police later recover after arresting 40-year-old Irish man and 32-year-old Filipino woman
Hong Kong police have arrested two people for allegedly stealing an artwork worth HK$50,000 (US$6,410) that is understood to be a piece by well-known French street artist Invader.
The force said on Wednesday that it had received a report the day before from a manager at the Harbour City shopping centre in Tsim Sha Tsui about the missing artwork.
Officers reviewed CCTV footage and were later able to identify and arrest a 40-year-old Irish man and a 32-year-old Filipino woman on Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of theft.
Police seized the stolen artwork and clothing believed to have been worn by the suspects at the time. The pair are being detained for the investigation.
