The Delhi government on Thursday announced a ₹170-crore programme to transform 15 government Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) into “technology-rich Centres of Excellence”, in line with the Centre’s ₹60,000 crore National Scheme for ITI Upgradation.

Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa made the announcement at the Regional Conference of Skill Ministers, hosted by the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship in Chandigarh. “The initiative to upgrade Delhi’s ITIs will equip the youth with 21st century skills, so that they graduate as job creators and not just job seekers,” he said.
