A drunk driver who killed his friend in the passenger seat after crashing into a tree at 60mph on their way home from a boozy night out has been jailed.
Colby Hammond, 20, lost control of his Seat Ibiza, causing the tragic death of Ethan Entwistle, 18, on a residential road in Broadstairs, Kent, on October 1, 2023.
He also had two other passengers, who survived, in his hatchback as he drove down Dumpton Park Drive, near the seafront, at around double the drink-drive limit.
The teens were driving home after getting together for a small 'school reunion', socialising at various bars around the harbour of nearby seaside town Ramsgate.
He reached a shocking 75mph in the 30mph zone, just moments before the fatal crash - which came after he had driven the wrong way down a one way street.
