A single mother of three was hailed as America’s ‘hardest working woman’ after a video of her single-handedly running a South Carolina Burger King went viral.
Within weeks, she was fired.
The reason, 25-year-old Nykia Hamilton told the Daily Mail, was ‘attendance issues’ because she struggled to find care for her young children during her shifts that sometimes stretched 12 hours.
Hamilton revealed her firing in a TikTok last week, sparking outrage and support, especially from fellow parents who empathized with her struggle to juggle childcare while trying to provide for her family.
Her termination came just over a month after a customer filmed her working a solo shift at a Columbia Burger King - running the counter, flipping burgers and bagging orders during the evening rush.
