Fox News host Sean Hannity says metal detectors could have prevented Wednesday’s shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis — even though the shooter opened fire through windows into the church where children were sitting.

“Here’s the saddest part: School shootings are preventable,” Hannity said Wednesday. “And simple, basic, common-sense actions can mitigate these tragedies.”

“If we have the desire to stop school shootings, this is the first thing you should do: Every school in the country should have a metal detector,” the conservative pundit continued.

“You have ’em at airports, you have ’em when you’re around elected politicians — by the way, they have armed guards around them. You have to control the entry of kids and the perimeter around every school.”

Rather than calling for sensible gun reform, Hannity then argued that schools should have even more guns on-site — and former U.S. soldiers on the premises.
