The Palacode forest division has called for surrender of illegally held country-made rifles and warned against poaching through electrification of fences fringing forest areas.

In an awareness campaign launched by the Palacode division of the department, the public were warned against possession of unlicensed guns, explosives and traps, used for poaching. Those in possession of illicit weapons were called to handed them over to the department, the police or the local village heads without inviting any criminal action. Similarly, farmlands on the forest fringes were warned against erecting electrified fences to harm wild animals.
