An investigation has been launched into the death of a young woman who raised thousands of pounds for the NHS after catching an infection in hospital

Molly Cuddihy died on Tuesday at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

In 2018 Molly developed septic shock while being treated for a rare cancer at the hospital.

She later gave evidence to the Scottish Hospitals Inquiry about her experience.

Last month the 23-year-old was admitted to hospital again and developed another hospital-acquired infection, BBC News reported.
