The security cabinet's meeting Tuesday night, at the height of the mediators' efforts to restart negotiations on a deal to free the hostages and end the war, is further evidence of the weakness of a forum comprised of the most senior ministers, one that is supposed to challenge Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and make decisions on key issues relating to management of the war.
