The 'heartbroken' family of a mother who died in a crash with a lorry has paid tribute to their loved one.

Chloe Lightfoot, 33, was on her way back to her home in Spennymoor, County Durham, when she was involved in the tragic accident on the A66.

The mother-of-one's Citroen Berlingo van collided with an HGV near the Bowes area just after 8am on Tuesday, August 26.

Emergency services rushed to the A-road, but despite paramedics' best efforts, Ms Lightfoot died at the scene.

Her family are currently being supported by specialist police officers, and they have paid tribute following her death.
