A female prison officer who was caught having a romance with an inmate behind bars and sending him flirtatious messages has been jailed for a year.
Aimee Duke, 26, was seen on CCTV behaving inappropriately with several prisoners at HMP Five Wells in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.
The footage revealed she had been on wings of the prison she wasn't rostered to work on and had carried her own bag onto the prison wing, which was prohibited.
Duke was also seen entering prisoners' cells when she did not have a work-related reason to do so.
Suspicions first arose when she was found with a piece of paper with one of the prisoner's ID numbers on it in her purse during a staff search on August 12, 2022.
