Incident came to light when mother contacted authorities after receiving call from tuition centre reporting eight-year-old son’s absence

Hong Kong police have launched an investigation after a man and his two young children were found unconscious in a flat in Yau Ma Tei, with a knife found at the scene.

The case came to light at around 3.15pm on Wednesday when a mother contacted authorities after receiving a call from a tuition centre alerting her of her eight-year-old son’s unexplained absence.

She went to the flat on Canton Road and found the unconscious family members.

Emergency responders arrived and firefighters forced entry into the flat.
