U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff announced on Tuesday that President Donald Trump will chair "a large meeting" on Gaza at the White House on Wednesday to discuss a comprehensive plan for the day after the war.
In an interview with Fox News' Bret Baier, Witkoff stated that a deal to release 10 living hostages was on the table in recent weeks, but that Hamas slowed the process. He added that Hamas is now accepting the deal, likely due to "intense pressure" from Israel.
The meeting at the White House coincides with a separate meeting between U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar in Washington on Wednesday.
