A transgender 'lady of the manor' is seeking £20,000 compensation after a 'discriminatory' community council ousted her as vice-chair.
Samantha Kane, who owns Carbisdale Castle in Scotland, claims she has been victimised by a 'lynch mob' which does not 'respect' her 'as a female'.
It comes after more than 100 people voted unanimously in May in favour of folding the current Ardgay and District Community Council in Sutherland.
Ms Kane, former vice-chair of the council, had been accused of acting 'like a football hooligan' in meetings and behaving 'like a six-year-old'.
Last week, Highland council, the principal local authority in the area, opened nominations for people to serve on the community council since it fell into abeyance.
