Benjamin Netanyahu's decision that the goal now is to conquer Gaza City, a move that will prolong the war for at least another year, even though it could be ended today, is a cynical one that ignores the army's capabilities and the heavy price a war against guerrillas will exact. It also ignores the heavy price Israel will pay in the world's treatment of it.
