At the Hostage Square rally, Nira Sharabi, wife of Yossi Sharabi, who was killed in Gaza captivity, said: "My Yossi has already been murdered. He will never hug me and our amazing daughters again. But even after his death, there is still a deal on the table."

Sharabi said that the right decision is to bring back all the hostages in one complete deal. "This is not only what we, the families of the hostages, demand – it is what the people of Israel want. It is what our basic values require. Conquering Gaza is the opposite of the correct values," she said.

She called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: "I ask you personally – give the negotiating team your blessing, return them all at once, give us a grave to cry over. It's what the country wants and demands, and will continue demanding."

Snir Dan, the uncle of Carmel Gat who was killed in Gaza captivity, said that exactly one year ago, a hostage deal was derailed over the issue of taking Rafah, leading to the death of six hostages being killed in Gaza City that night, due to Israel's military pressure.

"A year has passed since the murder of those six wonderful people: Carmel, Almog, Eden, Ori, Alex, and Hersh. What has changed since then? Nothing," he continued. "The government decided that Rafah was more important. It decided that killing [Hamas leader Yahya] Sinwar was more important than saving their lives."
