Vice President JD Vance was ruthlessly mocked online for incorrectly claiming that World War II ended with 'negotiations.'

The vice president joined Kristen Welker on MSNBC's Meet the Press on Sunday, when he was asked about President Donald Trump's strategy to end the war in Ukraine.

Vance explained that Trump is simply trying to mediate negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelensky.

'If you go back to World War II, if you go back to World War I, if you go back to every major conflict win human history, they all end with some kind of negotiation,' the vice president stated incorrectly.

Many online were then quick to point out that World War II did not end with negotiations between the Allies and the Axis powers, but rather ended in 1945 with the unconditional surrender of Germany and Japan.
