President Donald Trump said on Monday that Europeans have “jokingly” given him a new title: President of Europe.

But his critics aren’t buying it ― not even as a joke.

“They jokingly call me the president of Europe,” Trump said during a rambling Oval Office appearance as he bragged of the “respect” he’s earned overseas. “They call me the president of Europe, which is an honor, I like Europe, and I like those people. They’re good people. They’re great leaders.”

Trump claimed the U.S. was “dead” just a year ago.

“We had a dead country,” he insisted. “We were not gonna survive.”
