For more than a decade, the master cat burglar known as the Wimbledon Prowler raided the homes of some of Britain's wealthiest residents.
When Asdrit Kapaj was unmasked as the thief and jailed in 2019, those living in the area around the All England Lawn Tennis Club, home to the world-famous Wimbledon tournament, breathed a sigh of relief.
But the Daily Mail can reveal he has been released after serving just 40 per cent of his 14-year sentence.
And he has returned to the comfortable three-bed home – provided by social housing – in Timperley, Greater Manchester, that he shares with his wife and two children.
Kapaj is thought to have stolen £10million from 200 homes, with victims saying it was 'incredible' he could have served just six years after wreaking so much havoc.
