Five Met Police detectives have been arrested after an alleged plot to suppress a sexual assault claim against a senior officer.
Those arrested are said to include a detective chief inspector, a detective sergeant and two detective inspectors, one of whom is believed to work at the Met's Directorate of Professional Standards.
It is claimed the officers attempted to suppress the complaint made by a female officer against a male officer following a party last Christmas.
The allegations reportedly surfaced in June and searches at 11 addresses were carried out last Tuesday.
The police stations the suspects worked at as well as their homes were raided, The Sun reported on Monday night.
