Six children were pulled from the water in a major incident at a popular beach in Wales, rescuers have confirmed.
Coastguards launched a major rescue operation at Aberavon Beach, in Port Talbot, on Sunday evening after the children found themselves in 'serious difficulty' in the sea off the slipway.
Three children were brought safely ashore using a throw line, while rescuers then entered the water to bring the remaining casualties to safety.
Three ambulances were deployed to the scene with two of the youngsters rushed to hospital and the other four making their own way there.
The Port Talbot Coastguard said it was the team's third water rescue this year, with nine lives saved so far.
