Employees of the Information and Publicity Department have urged the Puducherry government not to proceed with promotions to the Puducherry Civil Service (PCS) cadre without including their assistant directors.
The Puducherry government recently issued service rules for PCS appointments, listing Scheduled II posts eligible for promotion. Assistant directors of the Information and Publicity Department are placed first on this list. However, employees alleged that successive departmental heads had deliberately delayed promotions for their officers, despite several of them being qualified.
