When Jeremy Evans set out on a sheep hunting holiday in 2018, death was the last thing on his mind.

The 39-year-old Canadian quickly kissed his wife goodbye and left for the Alberta Rockies, not realising this was very nearly his last farewell.

But, within just hours of arriving in the mountains, the father-of-one was mauled by a grizzly bear - suffering injuries so severe he tried to take his own life.

Jeremy recalled how the animal tore off the left side of his face in 'one swoop' and chewed on his head 'like a dog gnawing on a bone'.

'My left eye was hanging out of the socket. It was facing down. In order to really see, I either had to lift up my eye or lean my head way back, he told The Daily Mail.
