In a bid to strengthen implementation of the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) in Tamil Nadu, Medical Officers-TB Control (MO-TC) - will monitor the implementation of various TB prevention and control activities at the block level, taking care of the cough-to-cure pathway.
In a step towards this, NTEP, Tamil Nadu, recently conducted a State-level training programme for Medical Officers-TB Control at the Institute of Public Health, Poonamallee. The one-day training was held in four batches. A total of 381 medical officers under the Directorate of Public Health and Preventive Medicine from all districts across the State were trained. The sessions were facilitated by experts from the State TB Cell, World Health Organisation consultants, and senior programme managers.
