The Trinamool Congress on Saturday (August 23, 2025) said that it will not appoint any members from the party to the Joint Parliamentary Committee to review the three Bills to oust arrested Ministers, including Prime Minister and Chief Ministers. The party called the setting up of the Committee a “farce”.
The three bills are the Government of Union Territories (Amendment) Bill, 2025; the Constitution (One Hundred And Thirtieth Amendment) Bill, 2025; and the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2025.
