The Andhra Pradesh Public Transport Department (APPTD-APSRTC) Employees’ Union has urged management to extend the same allowances and daily duty incentives to on-call and hired bus drivers as those received by regular drivers.

In a statement on Friday, the union’s State president, P. Damodara Rao, and general secretary, G. V. Narasayya, noted that APSRTC recently increased payments for double duties and special assignments—₹900 for conductors, ₹1,000 for drivers, ₹1,800 for special/night halts, and ₹2,000 for double muster duties. However, on-call drivers were reportedly being paid less and inconsistently across depots, ranging from ₹800 to ₹1,800 instead of the ₹1,000 to ₹2,000 given to regular drivers.
