Former Supreme Court judge Rohinton Fali Nariman will deliver the 16th K.M. Bashir Memorial Lecture at the Fourth Estate Hall at Thiruvananthapuram Press Club on September 1 at 4.30 p.m. He will speak on the topic ‘Fraternity in a Secular State: The Protection of Cultural Rights and Duties.’ Organised annually by the Vakkom Moulavi Foundation Trust in memory of K.M. Bashir, a public figure who dedicated his life to equitable economic development, social justice and communal harmony, the lecture series serves as a platform for distinguished speakers to address pressing societal issues. Alexander Jacob, Former Director General of Police, will preside over the function.
