A minor boy was detained in connection with the murder of a 10-year-old girl in Kukatpally on Friday (August 22, 2025). The accused, a Class 10 student and neighbour of the victim, has confessed to killing her after she allegedly caught him trying to steal from her home.
According to Balanagar DCP K. Suresh Kumar, the boy had entered the girl’s house on the morning of August 18 intending to steal a cricket bat. “When the girl noticed him and tried to alert neighbours by shouting, he attacked her with a knife,” the officer said, adding that the boy did not expect to find the girl at home.
