The body of a father-of-two has been found on a beach in East Yorkshire more than three weeks after he went missing whilst swimming in the sea.

Matthew McDavid, 42, from Leeds, is reported to have gone missing while swimming off the coast of Flamborough, near Thornwick Bay, on July 30.

Police said the man's body was found at Tunstall beach in Holderness on Thursday, around 26 miles away.

His partner of 12 years, Michelle Sigsworth, had spoken earlier this month of her 'living nightmare' after Matt disappeared.

She said Matt was a keen kayaker, swimmer and bodyboarder, and a keen Manchester United fan. The couple have been together for 12 years.
