Core engineering courses are witnessing a renewed demand with academicians pointing to shifting student preferences triggered by job uncertainties in the IT sector and the parallel rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).
Though the shift is not en masse and seats for IT and Computer Science (CS) streams have been filled up, the demand for core engineering courses was evident in the admission at a few engineering colleges in Mysuru, and is reckoned to be the emerging trend across most technical institutions.
