A teenager wanted in connection with the firing outside the house of Youtuber Elvish Yadav in Gurugram this past Sunday (August 17) was arrested by the Faridabad Police on Friday (August 21, 2025) after a brief encounter. A country-made pistol has been recovered from him, said the police.The 19-year-old accused, Ishant Gandhi alias Ishu, sustained a bullet injury in his right leg in a retaliatory firing by the Faridabad Police Crime Branch team during the encounter around 4 a.m. He is a resident of Jawahar Colony in Faridabad, said the police.Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of Sector 30 and Central Faridabad Crime Branch set up a check post on a road leading from Faridapur village to Nimka in Sector 77 and flagged down a motorcycle without a registration number plate. The motorcyclist took a U-turn in a bid to escape, but the two-wheeler fell on the road and he tried to flee on foot.When the police team chased him, the accused allegedly fired four shots from his country-made pistol at the police team. In the retaliatory action of the police team, the bullet hit the right leg of the accused. He was then arrested and brought to a Civil Hospital for treatment.Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime, Mukesh Kumar, said the accused would be interrogated to ascertain his motive behind the firing incident, the details of his accomplices and the gang he is associated with.Three masked men had fired several shots outside the residence of Elvish Yadav this past Sunday when he was away in connection with his work. But his family was present inside the house at the time of incident.In a closed-circuit television footage, two men could be seen arriving outside the house on a motorcycle and opening fire from a distance.
