Labour has lost almost 200,000 members under Sir Keir Starmer, according to the party's latest accounts.

Figures published today showed Labour's membership has continued to decline from its peak under former leader Jeremy Corbyn.

The party shed around one in 10 members over the course of 2024, with another 37,215 members leaving during the 12 months.

This was despite Labour's general election landslide in July last year, which delivered Sir Keir a huge majority in the House of Commons.

The losses brought Labour's membership to 333,235 at the end of last year, well down on its recent peak of 532,046 at the end of 2019.
