Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday (August 20, 2025) said India can transform from being an energy importer to a global exporter if it can cut the cost of hydrogen production to one dollar per kg.Delivering the 24th Darbari Seth Memorial Lecture at The Energy and Resources Institute, the minister said that at present, hydrogen costs about $5-6 per kg, making it expensive compared to conventional fuels.
