MOSCOW, August 20. /TASS/. Officers of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), National Guard and Interior Ministry have detained three members of a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group, killing another three saboteurs, in the borderline Bryansk Region, the FSB said in a statement.

"Russia’s Federal Security Service <...> identified and, together with the Federal National Guard Service and the Interior Ministry, disrupted the activities of a sabotage and reconnaissance group in the Bryansk Region. The group consisted of career officers of the Special Operations Service curated by the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate, who planned to carry out acts of sabotage and terrorism in Russia, targeting transport facilities," the statement reads.

"Three saboteurs were eliminated and another three were detained," the FSB specified. According to the special service, "the sabotage and reconnaissance group was subordinated to and trained by Western intelligence officers in Ukraine, as well as in Lithuania, Estonia and Norway."

Six US-made assault rifles with devices for silent shooting, 16 kilograms of Czech-made plastic explosives, numerous NATO-standard grenades and ammunition, as well as a radio station for communication with officials at the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate, were seized at the site of the skirmish.
