Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to introduce three Bills in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday (August 20, 2025) to provide legal framework for removal of the Prime Minister, Union Ministers, Chief Ministers and Ministers in States and Union Territories who are “arrested and detained in custody on account of serious criminal charges.”

The Opposition INDIA bloc floor leaders will meet at Rajya Sabha Leader of Opposition, Mallikarjun Kharge’s office in Parliament, to formulate a strategy on the Bills.

A Bill to promote and regulate the online gaming sector including e-sports, educational games and social gaming and to provide for the appointment of an authority for coordinated policy support, strategic development and regulatory oversight of the sector is also slated to be introduced in Lok Sabha today.

Congress MP Manickam Tagore gave an Adjournment Motion Notice in the Lok Sabha to discuss matters related to the Election Commission, especially the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Bihar.
