From Nanakramguda to Nizampet, from Neredmet to Nallagandla, and from Annojiguda to Beeramguda, broadband and cable TV services have been disrupted in Hyderabad after the electricity department officials began acting on dangling cables.
The action has been triggered by a series of fatalities due to the hanging cables in Ramanthapur, Amberpet and Bandlaguda in a span of 24 hours.

As the Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana employees began removing the cables hanging from the utility’s infrastructure, reports of disruption began on Tuesday (August 19, 2025) afternoon. By evening it was a sweep of complaints from across the the city.
“No Cable TV in our home since yesterday…looks like the cable TV wires were cut by the power department for using their poles,” said Sunder Nagesh. Imran, a resident of Shastripuram near Rajendranagar, said he missed an important meeting due to the sudden outage of the service.
