Military chiefs are furiously thrashing out how they could guarantee Ukraine’s security if a deal to end the Russian invasion can be reached.

Allies have sent top brass to Washington DC for high-level talks while Sir Keir Starmer today held a call with European allies to work on the plan which could finally stabilise the region.

This morning, US President Donald Trump said that there will be no American boots on the ground – but suggested that Britain, France and Germany could send troops there in some capacity.

He said that there would be ‘some form of security’, in a Fox news interview, but said ‘it can't be NATO because that's just not something that would ever, ever happen.’

So, what could this support look like in the coming months and years ahead?
