Attack on Election Commission of India by Rahul, Opposition reflects frustration at losing polls: BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday (August 18, 2025) accused the Congress and the Opposition of levelling baseless allegations against the Election Commission of India (ECI) over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter list, which is going on in Bihar, stating that the Opposition wanted to protect illegal immigrants and win elections with those votes.

At a press conference here, BJP MP from Puri, Sambit Patra, blamed Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi for attacking the ECI “out of frustration.”
