The brand’s assured autumn/winter 2025 collection debuts on the boulevards of its home city, shot by Swedish fashion photographer Mikael Jansson
Now, a few months on, the luxury maison’s newly unveiled autumn/winter ready-to-wear campaign pays homage to the rich DNA showcased in the collection, with a stunning set of images by acclaimed Swedish fashion photographer Mikael Jansson.
Paris – the city in which Chanel was founded – becomes the runway as model du jour Mona Tougaard traverses its most familiar backdrops, from bustling cafes and cobblestone pavements, to streets of historic Haussmannian facades and even its most popular landmark, the Eiffel Tower. The campaign’s cinematic feel, and the contemporary mix of black-and-white and rich colour only add to the allure.
Tougaard strikes a knowing pose in looks that celebrate all the familiar brand codes, from bows to chains. Tweed takes on various forms, from shimmering versions on a matching dress and jacket, to an edgy deconstructed black tweed cape, and a rock chick-inspired ensemble featuring a golden three-piece skirt suit with a contrasting braid, layered over trousers.
Accessories shine with recognisable details that still feel modern and fresh. For example, Coco Chanel’s favourite jewellery – a string of pearls – takes on new dimensions. Supersized strands are layered around the neck or transformed into a wearable objet d’art – a stylish cross-body bag. Sautoir necklaces made from strass or beads cascade across the torso to add movement and sparkle.
