European leaders will join Volodymyr Zelensky for his crucial meeting with Donald Trump on Monday, it has been announced.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron and Nato secretary general Mark Rutte all confirmed that they will attend the meeting in the White House tomorrow.
Finnish President Alexander Stubb is also expected to attend, alongside Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
Sir Keir Starmer has not yet confirmed his attendance, but would be expected to be there given Britain is one of Ukraine – and America’s – strongest allies.
The German government said in a statement that “the talks will address, among other things, security guarantees, territorial issues, and continued support for Ukraine in its defence against Russian aggression.”
