Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Saturday said the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) was not AIADMK to be afraid of Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids.
Speaking at the CPI State conference titled ‘Velga Jananayagam’, the Chief Minister said the Union government was threatening the leaders of the Opposition parties, and referred to the ED raid at Minister I. Periyasamy’s house on Saturday.
“We are not Edappadi K. Palaniswami to form an alliance with the BJP immediately after raids are conducted in relatives’ houses. The DMK has faced many revengeful acts like this. Tamil Nadu people have political awareness, and they will defeat the BJP. In the 2026 Assembly election, the DMK alliance will win, defeating all such plots,” he said.
“The unity of our alliance is troubling many. Therefore, former Chief Minister Palaniswami is suddenly showing love towards Communists. No one is a slave to anyone. The Dravidian movement and Communism grew against slavery,” Mr. Stalin added.
The Communists never forget to criticise the government, and the government does not forget to fulfill the demands of the Left parties. This is democracy, and so the alliance continues, he said, urging the democratic forces to unite against casteism and majoritarianism.
