It is “not acceptable” for migrants to be housed at an Epping hotel because there are schools nearby, a court has heard.

Epping Forest District Council has brought legal action against Somani Hotels Limited, the hotel chain which owns The Bell Hotel, claiming it should not be used to house migrants.

The High Court was told on Friday The Bell should close because of sexual assault charges against two of its residents

Hadush Kebatu, 38, last month appeared in court charged with sexual assault against a 14-year-old girl.

On Wednesday, resident Mohammed Sharwarq, 32, appeared in court on sexual assault and common assault charges.
