A teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of raping and murdering a 13-year-old girl.
The schoolgirl was found 'unresponsive' at a house in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, on Monday and died in hospital the next day.
Detectives have launched an investigation into the girl's death which is being treated as 'unexplained'.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: 'The 16-year-old boy from Huddersfield was arrested on suspicion of murder and rape in connection with the death of the girl in hospital in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
'The girl's death is currently being treated by West Yorkshire Police as unexplained, and police enquiries are underway to determine the circumstances.'
