Palestinian official: Turkey pressuring Hamas to disarm, resume Gaza cease-fire talks

An Israeli official said Wednesday that the country's political leadership remains determined to press ahead with a planned military operation to take control of Gaza City, the largest urban center in the Strip. However, the official said negotiations with Hamas could resume if the United States and other mediators present a proposal that meets Israel's conditions.
