A Tennessee man was sentenced to decades in prison for fatally shooting his mother in the head after she took his phone away.
Shawn Willis, now 21, was only 16 when he shot his mother, Sandy Willis, with her own gun while she slept in her Rocky Top home on April 20, 2020.
He shot her twice at close range after grabbing the gun off the nightstand and taking it downstairs to load it before coming back to kill her.
Willis had been upset that his mother had taken away his phone, protesting that he wanted it back before Sandy eventually went upstairs to bed.
He was sentenced on Tuesday to 30 years in prison, which District Attorney General Dave Clark said will be served a '100 percent.'
