A man accused of cheating a petrol pump owner and stealing ₹1.39 lakh in cash was arrested by the Amberpet police on Tuesday.

The accused was identified as Vivek Kumar Singh, 25, a native of Muzaffarpur district in Bihar. In April this year, Singh was brought to Hyderabad by his associate, Sagar Paswan, a resident of the same area, who was employed as a service boy at Ganesh Filling Station HP Petrol Pump on CPL Road in Amberpet.

According to Amberpet Inspector T. Kiran Kumar, observing the daily cash earnings from fuel sales, the two men conspired to steal the money. On April 24, they allegedly fled with ₹1.39 lakh collected from petrol and diesel sales. Petrol pump owner Narender Reddy lodged a complaint with Amberpet police, prompting a search for the duo.

On Tuesday morning, Singh was arrested while loitering near the petrol pump at Tilak Nagar junction. He was produced in court, while efforts are under way to trace Paswan.
