Jimmy Kimmel is getting candid about his future, and it might not be in the United States.

The late night host opened up about the country’s political climate during an Aug. 7 episode of “The Sarah Silverman Podcast.” While chatting with Silverman, his ex-girlfriend and longtime friend, he discussed a growing trend: people seeking citizenship abroad amid the current state of U.S. affairs.

“I did get Italian citizenship,” Kimmel revealed. “I do have that.”

Silverman called the move “amazing.”

As their conversation continued, the pair reflected on how dire things have become in the U.S., agreeing that the situation is “way worse” than expected.
