Jimmy Fallon on Monday took President Donald Trump’s planned meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin to an unexpected place.
The talks in Alaska will focus on ending Russia’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine that began more than 3 years ago.
Friday’s summit isn’t expected to include Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who questioned Putin’s intentions, but, Fallon said, “Trump also said he has a chance at organizing a trilateral meeting with Putin and Zelenskyy.”
“Last time Trump had a trilateral meeting was on Epstein Island,” Fallon cracked, drawing a “whoa” and applause from the audience.
Trump and his administration’s changing story around the files related to the heavily connected sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have cast suspicions on the president. He was reportedly told by Attorney General Pam Bondi that he is mentioned in the files but the context is not publicly known and Trump, a former friend of the late Epstein, has not been accused of any wrongdoing.
