Franklin Lo, 63, remanded in custody after allegedly doctoring bottles of soft drinks with his urine and leaving when in a supermarket
A 63-year-old Hong Kong man who allegedly placed several bottles of soft drinks contaminated with his urine among other goods in a supermarket has been remanded in custody after attending a court hearing in an “Enjoy Coca-Cola” T-shirt.
Police on Tuesday escorted defendant Franklin Lo Kim-ngai to Kowloon City Court to face a charge of administering a noxious substance with intent to injure. He is alleged to have committed the offence at a Sham Shui Po branch of the Wellcome supermarket chain on August 6.
Lo, who sported a grey T-shirt emblazoned with words “Enjoy Coca-Cola”, was not required to speak apart from confirming he understood the allegation.
A charge sheet said the accused doctored an unspecified amount of Coca-Cola Plus and 7-Up drinks and put them inside a Wellcome outlet at the Nam Cheong Place shopping centre “with intent to injure, aggrieve or annoy” people.
