A British woman whose father-in-law allegedly tried to drown her in a swimming pool has pleaded with a judge to release him after he was denied bail.
Mark Gibbon, 62, is currently in jail in the US after he was charged with the attempted murder of Jasmine Wyld - his son, Alex's former partner.
The Daily Mail previously revealed that Mark, who allegedly held Ms Wyld's head under water while in Florida during an argument over his will, was in a romantic relationship with her.
Ms Wyld, a hairdresser, told police that she 'could not breathe and feared she would drown' during the alleged incident, according to the arrest affidavit.
However, she has now testified to a court in Bartow, Florida, that she has always 'felt safe' around Gibbon and that she 'is not afraid of him'.
