The Kerala High Court set aside an order of acquittal and imposed a fine of ₹1 lakh on a convict on the charge that he had filed two criminal appeals before a sessions court.

Kunhikrishnan observed that lawyers, litigants, and the court registry too must be cautious of such multiplicity of appeals, revision, and other proceedings arising from the same matter.
